The Chalice, Lichfield Cathedral

In May 2011 Liz was invited to exhibit a freshly-made mosaic in Lichfield Cathedral to commemorate the anniversary of the King James VIth and Ist Bible. She made this two metre high sculpture entitled 'The Chalice' of a pomegranate on stand.

Professional Development

The Chicago Mosaic School was the destination for Liz in November 2011, to work with Sherri Warner-Hunter learning new skills for sculptural mosaics. The success of The Chalice (see above, Exhibition of Mosaics, Lichfield Cathedral) has prompted more interest in large three-dimensional mosaic pieces and this American workshop deals with the issues around such big pieces.

The Garden Studio

The garden has grown and the semi-tropical plants have become ever more luxuriant. They provide a restful and soothing background to the courses, allowing participants a luxuriant break from mosaic making in the sunshine. NB. All 2012 mosaic courses come with light lunches provided - more time for snipping. Further course details here.

Renovation of Victorian house

During the last two years we have been refurbishing an out-of-date Victorian house. Alongside are pictures of some of the mosaics we have made for the place, trying to keep with the tradition that the house demands but giving it a modern twist.

We hope you can join us for a course in 2011 and/or take advantage of what Brighton and Hove has to offer and stay with us in one of our luxurious B & B rooms. Further details here
